Fairfield County's first and only surgery exclusive hospital
A Fairfield County native, Dr. Baron is a board-certified veterinary surgeon with advanced training from the Animal Medical Center, the University of Pennsylvania, and Tufts University. She brings extensive experience in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, with special interests in minimally invasive techniques and complex oncologic procedures. As Medical Director of HVS Connecticut, Dr. Baron is committed to delivering exceptional care through close collaboration with referring veterinarians and pet owners.
Dr. Burns DeMarle is a board-certified internist with specialized expertise in ultrasound, endoscopy, and complex internal diseases. She completed her veterinary degree at The Ohio State University, followed by an internship and residency in internal medicine at Tufts University. Dr. Burns has a strong clinical interest in hepatobiliary disease and has published research on hepatocutaneous syndrome. She is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, collaborative care to every patient.
Dr. Kaelin is the overnight veterinarian at HVS, providing attentive, skilled care to post-operative patients during critical recovery hours. She holds a veterinary degree from Iowa State University and completed both a rotating internship and a cardiology internship at the Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group in Brooklyn. Her clinical interests include trauma, sepsis, and cardiac emergencies. Dr. Kaelin is dedicated to delivering compassionate, informed care throughout each patient’s recovery.
HVS CT was built to deliver an elevated surgical experience—for patients, clients, and referring veterinarians alike. Our board-certified specialists, licensed technicians, and dedicated support staff work collaboratively across every stage of care, ensuring each patient receives attentive, expert treatment tailored to their unique needs.
Every aspect of our hospital is designed around the needs of surgical patients. From our dedicated ORs and on-site imaging to our overnight inpatient care and in-house physical therapy, we offer a seamless, coordinated experience. Our workflows are tailored exclusively for surgery, enabling the precision, efficiency, and continuity required for optimal outcomes.
At HVS, our on-site rehabilitation team supports patients through every phase of healing. While many of our patients are recovering from surgery, we also welcome pets who are referred specifically for rehabilitation, whether managing chronic conditions or recovering from injury. Our collaborative approach ensures seamless communication between our surgical, medical, and rehabilitation teams to deliver thoughtful, goal-oriented care tailored to each pet’s needs.
